About LGP
A patient-centred, multimodal approach — in person at the practice and via telemedical video call.
The LGP Centre for Cannabis Medicine connects patients seeking support with experienced doctors specialising in therapy with cannabis and cannabinoids. At the heart of our work lies a patient-centred, multimodal approach: our doctors view well-being and sustainable health as a complex interplay of biological, psychological and social factors. From personal consultations in the practice to telemedical care via video call, the individual needs of each patient always come first. In addition to tailored medical advice, communication at eye level is a core principle of our care.
LGP’s aim is to make access to medical cannabis therapy simple, reliable, individualised and cost-effective. To achieve this, we collaborate with a team of specialised doctors, psychologists and pharmacists. At LGP, the individual well-being of patients is our primary focus. We regard well-being and sustainable health as the result of bio-psycho-social interaction.
For the LGP team, medical cannabis therapy is always adapted to the individual situation of the patient, integrative in nature and part of a comprehensive treatment concept. Our cooperating doctors therefore take the time to thoroughly understand your situation, your previous treatments and your personal therapeutic goals.

Good to Know
LGP is a service provider for doctors and connects patients with specialised practitioners. LGP collaborates with independent doctors and specialists who run their own practices. LGP provides these cooperating doctors and specialists with a platform and various services to facilitate the treatment process.
The treatment contract is established exclusively between the cooperating doctor/specialist and the patient. When a patient books an initial consultation, the cooperating doctor/specialist makes the medical treatment decision.
Legal Framework

Consultation via communication media is permissible where this is medically justifiable in the individual case.MBO-Ä · § 7 (4)
Remote treatment (e.g. via video consultation) is not suitable in all cases. The prerequisite for remote treatment is compliance with recognised professional standards in accordance with § 630a of the German Civil Code (BGB). These standards take into account scientific knowledge and medical experience necessary to achieve the intended therapeutic goal and which have proven effective in practice.
According to the German Model Professional Code for Doctors (MBO-Ä), medical consultation in Germany generally takes place through direct personal contact. Communication media may be used to support this. Exclusive consultation or treatment via communication media is permissible in individual cases where this is medically justifiable and where due medical care is maintained, particularly in terms of examination, consultation, treatment and documentation. Patients must also be informed about the specific characteristics of consultation and treatment conducted solely via communication media. Most regional medical associations in Germany have adopted these regulations into their professional codes.
Through its online portal, LGP supports contact between patients and their existing treating doctors on site, as well as — where medically justifiable — contact with doctors providing treatment via telemedicine. The medical services presented on the LGP website via communication media do not represent general or comprehensive remote treatment, but relate specifically to certain conditions and complaints where, according to recognised professional standards, direct personal contact with the patient is not required.
At the Practice
With our cooperating specialists, you have the opportunity to attend an in-practice consultation. A comprehensive preventive examination is offered, including:
Physical and Internal Medical Examination
Recording and evaluation of a 12-lead resting ECG
Lung function test (spirometry) with individual assessment
Blood sampling (laboratory diagnostics)
Medical history and individual documentation
Information and advice on medical cannabinoid therapy
Development of a joint, integrative and holistic therapy concept
The included laboratory analysis provides important information about blood count, coagulation, lipid metabolism, kidney and liver function, and long-term blood glucose levels. Further diagnostics may be arranged by your treating doctor if medically indicated. Consultation is always transparent, patient-oriented and integrative. If any abnormalities are identified, your doctor may refer you to additional specialists for further clarification.
Upon request, you will receive a medical report regarding your cannabinoid therapy. This report is provided exclusively to you, and you decide whether and with whom you wish to share it.
In most cases, following your initial in-practice consultation, your therapy can be continued conveniently via video consultation. This will be discussed individually with your treating doctor.

Legal Notice
The medical prescription of cannabis flowers constitutes what is known as “no-label use” (also referred to as unlicensed use). This refers to prescribing a medicinal product that does not hold formal marketing authorisation.
Both no-label use and off-label use are permissible under the physician’s therapeutic freedom. They represent individual therapeutic attempts undertaken primarily for the benefit of the individual patient and not for research purposes.
This refers to prescribing a medicinal product that does not hold formal marketing authorisation.
This must be distinguished from “off-label use”, where an authorised medicinal product is prescribed outside its approved indication. Off-label use applies, for example, when the finished medicinal product Sativex® is prescribed for pain rather than for its approved indication (MS-induced spasticity).
Mandatory Requirements
When prescribing cannabis flowers under no-label use, specific mandatory requirements must be fulfilled to ensure quality, safety and efficacy — criteria that would otherwise be assessed during a formal authorisation procedure.
Ensuring that the medicinal product meets appropriate quality standards
Providing the patient with individual, indication-specific information about potential benefits and current scientific knowledge
Providing individual, indication-specific information about risks, side effects and interactions based on current scientific knowledge
Obtaining the patient’s explicit consent following comprehensive information and consultation
Compliance with these mandatory requirements is documented individually for each patient and for every new prescription by the treating doctor. This documentation and the joint evaluation of treatment progress take place at regular intervals throughout the entire course of therapy.
